Win98SE Scanreg

Problem:- Win98SE <scanreg /fix> hangs midway and does not complete the repair of the Registry. It was ok till last week.
Grateful for any solution to this problem

Try scanreg/restore and choose a date prior to when the problem started.

Restore is not possible for more than 5 day old fault. Three files, scanreg.exe; scanregw.exe; and scanreg.ini have been reloaded from original.
