Windows XP Media and windows XP home edition

I bought a used computer to find it was running Windows XP Media and they had tryed to install XP home over it. It did not finished installing. The computer starts up and then goes in to a conflict and shuts down windows. I don't own either Operating system. Is there a way to rescue Windows XP Media?

Nope...it's probably gone beyond rescuing....you will need an XP CD.
