Black screen crashes, hardware going bad?
« on: November 26, 2010, 09:27:52 AM »
Hi, starting last week my PC began to crash while playing a few different games (which I've played for awhile without error, Dragon age origins, Civ V, Heroes of Newerth).  Here is what happened; I'm playing everything is normal, then my monitor goes black, it does not give me a no-signal error. Sometimes the in game sound and/or the music playing on Winamp will cut out, but not always. I reboot my computer, but the monitor does not come back on unless while the comp is off I unplug the power for a few seconds before turning it back on, then everything works fine. I think some of my hardware is going bad however I'm not sure which part, I'm thinking video card, mobo, or processor. I have not had this happen outside of a game.

Windows XP SP3
Intel Core 2 Duo E8500
Mobo; GA-X48-DQ6
video; Asus-EAH3870X2
Ram; OCZ3G18002G X2
Using the Mobos on-board Realtek HD audio.
