Windows 7 [64bit] Errors out the wazoo
    « on: January 03, 2011, 05:08:50 PM »
I just installed Windows 7 on to my new rig and I am have tons of issues.
At first Windows wouldnt install at all, after spending time with Microsoft support we confirmed my hardware was good except one stick of memory that seemed to cause the issue. After removing it everything installed ok.

Now however, everything I download seems to end up corrupt. I am using Google Chrome as my browser.

    Some examples:
Installing Steam - Unable to process certain data
Installing AVG Free - Message "File is corrupt"
Winamp - Installed, but immediately shuts down on startup
Installing Battlefield Bad Company 2 - Disc error
Installing drivers for GPU - Installation file invalid

Also Chrome has been giving me the "Whoops" page very frequently. I've never had these issues before so I feel its related to the new OS. Any suggestions?

    [Edit]

Now every time I go to open a program I get "Windows Explorer has stopped working"

The first thing I would do is to do the same with IE or Firefox and see what happens.

      Firefox crashes instantly on startup.

I tried  downloading and installing steam with IE and it worked.

      Whats this mean?

Tried installing iTunes and IE kept crashing when clicking download.
