    Vaio recovery tool
    « on: January 11, 2011, 07:17:03 PM »
    Hi,
I have a Sony Vaio VGNCR42s it will not load correctly i have tried every possible solution to get it to work with no luck
i have managed to use Ubuntu in order t use my computer and then also get everythin off of my harddrive so there is no worry of losing anything.

I also have an old Dell Inspiron which i have transfered everything onto from my vaio so i am wonderig if it is possible to make a recovery disk for the Vaio (as i didn't make one before) through the dell, and how i would go about doing this. I want to restore factory settings on my vaio and have tried all the F8 etc options and it doesn't work so i am hoping a disk will?

    anyone have any ideas?

    thank you
    x

The OEM versions of Vista have important differences.
But you have saved you important stuff, so it is worth a try anyway.
You can burn a recovery CD on the Dell and try it on the Sony.
Probably will fail, but not catch fire.
Let us know if it works at all.

Doesn't Sony provide some kind of help?
Shame on you for not making the recovery when you first got it.

I know i should have made one in the first place but i just thought id be able to use the F10 option
Sony were no help whatsoever and then tried to get me o pay for he recovery CD for a ridiculous price when I already basically have the information to recover it, just burning it now so fingers crossed
