Too Many Unknown Files On Hard Drive
    « on: January 09, 2011, 02:03:40 PM »
    Windows XP Home
    Ser. Pk. 3
    2 GB Ram
    Hard Drive 45.08GB Free

I have 100's of files on my hard drive that are logs of Anti-Spyware applications I ran without clicking on ...do not log... I would like to know if theres a way I can delete them all at once, I ve been doing it file by file, a real pita.

I also have some files that I made and can't open them up anymore, it dosen't matter what program I use; should I delete these also?  ???

I am not the brightest on a computer, thanks for any help.

A lot of the Anti-programs l ran had an option of not creating a log when when you run them, I didn't unclick that option until I realized I was making a log every time I ran them when I seen my hard drive was filled with the logs

They are not the most inportant files, just things I thought I wanted to save. I thought that I knew what program was used to make them but everything I try comes back corrupted, like I say I'm not the brightest bulb on a computer.  :-[

How much space is on your Hard Drive? Are you running out of space?

Is your PC working OK? If so, why tamper with things you're not sure of.

Download CCleaner and this will clean your machine. DO NOT use the registry cleaner as there is no need.

      Download it here

      Its free.

What type of Antispyware software? On what locations do you delete those logs? Usually Logs are saved within the software and has an option to delete all the Logs via Log tabs.

First backup those log files, then delete the original log files to see if your computer and anti-virus software run properly, if not, restore the log files from the backup.

Feel free to ignore this post. Just delete the files any way you like.
