    2nd Router IP address
    « on: January 13, 2011, 04:07:36 PM »
    Hi Forum:

I have a desktop (192.168.0.2) connected by ethernet to a router (192.168.0.1).  Now I attached a second wireless router the the main router by ethernet.  My wireless device can see the wireless router signal but cannot connect.  Is there a way to know the IP of the wireless router so I can get in and configure?

    Thanks

You need to look at the documentation. You did not tell us what brand or model, so we can not even make near guess.
Give some info about the first router.
Give some details about the second router.
In general, router must have separate IP address.

Why do you need a second router?  Most wireless routers have wired ports also so you could use just the wireless router with one wired connection.  Personally, I prefer wired connections.  Remember the phrase KISS and unless there is some other reasons, keep the set up to a minimum.

Is it new or second hand?  There might be some config's left over from the previous owner that only allow specific machines to connect (MAC filtering).
