XP with Ubuntu , Hard drive space missing on new installation
« on: January 30, 2011, 08:41:20 AM »
Hello all,

I was using XP with Ubuntu for quite sometime untill i had some issues with XP
So, i decided to reinstall the XP os.
After the installion.
1> i dont see 375 GB of my hard disk space (out of 500 GB)
2> i have the Ubuntu OS missing. Even during the installation i was given an option to format only 125 GB of Hard drive.
I check the BIOS screen and the hard drive information is 500 GB even now.
Could some one please help me to recover the space i have lost.

I have tried http://www.wikihow.com/Use-Windows-Recovery-Console-from-XP-CD but the issue still exists

Thanks & Regards,
V

Boot to the XP CD...
Delete all existing partitions and follow the steps for the XP install and you will have all your space back.

Do you want to recover Ubuntu? Was the Ubuntu partition 375gb?
