In most cases they are the same. Is this a store bought machine? Or was it a custom build?

hi spoiler, it's a bought machine.  I asked the question because some devices have usb 1.1 and some have usb 2.0 which is faster. I wondered which usb port to use.

Who made the machine? Do you know the model number?

      We can look it up

All the ports are USB 2.0.  Use any of them for a flash drive; use the rear ones for external hard drive.
