NETWORKED COMPUTER VERY SLOW

We are working off a Windows 2003 server and my boss has a Windows XP operating system on his desktop. His desktop is somehow linked up to his laptop which sits on some sort of base right next to his desktop.

His computer is running very slow and we have Comcast as our Internet provider. Everyone elses computer is fast except his. I ran all the tests on this link http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000179.htm less the 'erase and start over option' and everything checks out. I ran malware bytes and there was malware detected which we removed but it still has not improved the speed. The only other thing we didn't do was buy a new cord. Also, I noticed that his computer was automatically connecting to two network connections so I disabled one of them and that seemed to improve the speed somewhat but it still is incredibly slow.

We recently had a computer guy come in who we believe did not really know networking as well as we though he did. He switched us out of server exchange and also we switched from Fortinet to a firewalled wireless router as we are a very small jobshop.

Do you think the slowdown is occurring because of the configuration? Do you think the computer guy who switched out the Fortinet to the wireless router should've re-configured something on the network?

Has anyone else ever had this problem?
