    numbers
    « on: April 25, 2011, 09:05:29 AM »
I am having a terrible time. Suddenly, my computer changed to printing only numbers.  I can't sign on or anything d/t the numbers.  I have checked every key on this keyboard. Tried to look up solutions etc with no luck.  I changed keyboards but that wasn't the answer. Can anyone help?

    What happens in safe mode?
What is new or different since the last time everything worked properly (ie, new hw, new sw, virus, error, etc)?
Have you run full scans with both your Anti Virus app and MalwareBytes?

I just had a failing hard drive replaced and it has worked beautifully for 2-3 weeks. They went through the inside and cleaned it out. My system is Windows XP. The computer is 4 years old.

Printing numerals ? ?  Or typing only numerals ? ?

Did they do a clean install of Windows or copy the drive ? ?

The computer only prints numbers regardless of which key I push.  They copied the old hard drive.  I had purchased an HP laptop for my wife and had files copied on to it from the computer I am having trouble with.  It has worked perfectly until 2 days ago.  No trouble with the laptop.

I am not sure what you mean.....

If you open notepad and type Mary had a little lamb, on the screen you see numbers? Or it looks right but when you try to print it the page comes out just numbers?
