    BSOD
    « on: August 14, 2011, 01:36:21 AM »
Hi all , firstly i apologize if I have posted in the wrong section but I desperately need to advice.
I have a HP Pavillion a6042uk. I bought it of my sister . Prior to me buying it i did know she had a prob with bsod and as I had dealt with this before I thought what the heck I will still have it.
it is a intel pentium dual cpu e21060 @1.8ghtz, ram 2g and it has a 250 hard drive.
It was bought as new running on Vista. I have ran windows 7 and the computer is sluggish and unresponsive. I have tried xp , but as the pc was made for vista most of the drivers are missing.
So far I have done a clean install . The pc can work fine for a hour or two or just ten minutes before a blue screen appears. Each page never the same as before, can be mind dump, usb prob , driver. But it boots up fine and have tried to update and make sure drivers are up to date. I am the pc now. I find I have a bsod mostly when I go online.
Any thoughts. Big thank you in advance.

    Download BlueScreenView to your desktop.
    BlueScreenView
unzip downloaded file and double click on BlueScreenView.exe to run the program.
when scanning is done, go to EDIT - Select All
Go to FILE - SAVE Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all of the content, and paste it into your next reply

                1. Try running system file checker -> http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833
                2. Then use Safemode with Networking. On first boot up, tap F8 and choose the option. Use it for a couple of hours and check if you get the same BSOD.
                3. Post current protection softwares installed. Make sure to acquire all drivers directly on HP support site with the corresponding OS you installed.

Did the BSODs occur with all three versions of Windows or just Vista?

When I first aquired the pc it had Vista on it and it was doing it then. I did put windows 7 and it ran so slow but it never suffered with bsod. I did run win xp too but the prob with this was no drivers were available.
I have since this morning opened tower up and gently brushed away all dust, which was a lot and I am surpised one fan worked as it was pretty built up. At this moment it has been running about six hours with out no blue screen so at the moment this is a good sign.
