The fan u are referring to, is it the CPU fan? if so i strongly advice you not to switch on your PC again as this action may damage the CPU (Processor), for your information, some motherboards are designed to Shutdown immediately they detect malfunction on the cooling process, in this case the CPU fan, it shuts down so as to prevent damaging your CPU, i advice you to get another CPU fan if that's what is faulty, if you do get a new fan dont forget to properly apply the Thermal Paste to reduce the heat. Have a look at this site for more info http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=170&Itemid=1

    Hope this helps

Light Pass into the Motherboard??? ???  If the motherboard sparked you should replace it...

If the CPU fan does not spin you MUST replace the fan.

A quick web search shows that some Pentium 2s can run without fans.

if the fuu is working then probably the thermo component has dried up. the liquid acts as a thermal conductor btwn the fun and the processor so that it can lose more heat faster. b4 u consider buying another fun try and replace the thermal component then c if it will work.

i had the same problem n thats hw i solved it. op it wrk for u too
