how do i boot from cd rom in the above named laptop.i.e what are the keys to press when trying to reinstall a new copy of windows.

How to boot from CD/DVD.

A quick google search shows that for this model, you have to press F10 at boot to get into BIOS. if "multiboot" is enabled, you can press F12 to get into the boot menu.
