    Problem of installing Windows Vista and 7 in Acer

    Hi Computer hope members,

    I want to install Windows Vista or 7 in Acer Power, but computer fails to boot from CD, but if I try Ubuntu or XP CD it boot.
    Please help me. Thank you.

    There are four reasons a computer will not boot from a cd or dvd:

    1) The disc is not bootable (or in the case of an OS, it's not an original retail disc)
    2) The drive is not working properly
    3) The disc is damaged
    4) The optical drive is not the first device in the bios boot order

    This sounds more like a problem that the Vista and 7 install discs are DVDs!! XP is a CD.

    If your optical drive does not read DVDs, then it will fail to recognize the Vista or 7 install disc.
