    HardDrive Size Read Incorrect
    « on: October 28, 2011, 01:50:51 PM »
Okay to explain this issue in detail I attempted to resize partition D and add the size to Partition C, (this HD was orginally 1.5TB) anyway after about 5 times of failed attempts i noticed somthing strange. the space that was taken from Partition D is like gone or not readable in the "Computer" explorer window but it wasnt transfered to partition C. its gone. Partition D in Disk Management shows up 100% correct but when going to properties the computer returns a differnt result. I took a print screen for details.

Thanks to anyone who can help me out <3.
and sorry for the slightly pixelated image if you guys/ladies need i can try and clean it up abit.

Yeah its windows 7. I did thoes exact steps for Disk Management, the only difference is when i tried to shrink the volume it came up with a error and didnt turn up with any space that was unallocated.
the error returns "The parameter is incorrect."

Have you tried using a 3rd-party partition manager like EaSEUS Partition Manager? This is a rather odd problem...

You probably just wiped your hidden restore partition in the process...

Can't tell much from that image.

Log into an administrator account. Find the drive in Computer, right click it and select properties. Click the quota tab. Are disk quotas enabled?

The HP Tools partition is missing.  If JJ's suggestion doesn't work, you could image the partitions you want to keep, wipe the drive & restore them to the proper order.  I don't think it's a bad HD.
