    I've found that McAfee works very well, I've used it for a year and haven't had any issues with it, the price is reasonable, and you do get your moneys worth.

    Same here I use McAfee Live Safe paid version on my laptop and smart phone keeps both running smoothly got the app on phone where a code has to go in every time if not put in right locks phone up so no one can log in or steal it
    Running windows 8.1 at moment all protect by McAfee Antivirus, CCleaner and 5 Auslogics products all paid for plus sticky password

      I have tried most of the AVs out there because I write review on articles and get to fool with a lot of them.  I like the Emsisoft Internet Security, it updates 24 times a day and is pretty easy on the resources.  Webroot, might be the fastest  scanner with the smallest footprint I have ever used. When it comes to the big guys Norton, Kasperskey, and Bitdefender, I think they are good but resource hungry.  An antivirus program has to be easy to use almost invisible until needed and when something continually slows you down I worry about the possibility of individuals bypassing it to speed up their system.  Final two things, Windows Defender in Windows 10 is on its way to being a major player, it has finally passed a better than 90% catch rate and I believe that each new release of Win 10 will improve its effectiveness.

      I know this was about Antivirus but seriously, if you want to stay safe, people should be thinking about running everything Sandboxed. You can't get infected if its not on your machine.  Thanks for letting me give my two cents.

        I've found that Akick Antivirus works very well, I've used it for a few months ago and haven't had any issues with it, the price is reasonable, and you do get your moneys worth.

            I'm with an earlier poster about avg. It keeps getting more & more bloated. I like 360 but have heard some not-so-good comments about it. I use it on my W 7 machine, sure made/makes updates painless, , ,

              I do for one ~ great way to invest time for those systems that are problematic and I have to evaluate the issue. It's much easier to ask a question than to research multiple assessments to narrow down an issue. Me thinks   ???

                  Reading posts about AVG-I have AVG Free,seems to work ok, but in doing scans, tuneup, I see issues :
                  Registry issues, broken shortcuts, systems cache & logs,browser data. Are these included in the free version, or would i have to buy ? Also, I tried to change my password, but I'm asked to enter the old one to do so. i no longer have the old password,
                  so now what ?!  ::)

                  Mark.

                  if you are on Windows 10 Creators Update, the inbuilt Defender security program is all you need now in my opinion.

                  Back when I did use AV software I used AVG until it disabled defender or I used Zone alarm along side WinDef.  AVAST was powerful as well.
