1683526.exe? [Jenny, Don't Change Your Number]

Windows 7, 64-bit. All wireless network.

Fine last night, no reboot, no internet today.

Shows connected in system tray, but with that exclamation mark. Will not connect to wireless router's IP address in browsers.

The other machine on the network - this one - connects just fine.

Rebooted, got "Windows cannot find 1683526.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again."

Did a System restore to yesterday morning, same results.

Can't find "1683526.exe" on the Google.

Suggestions?

Routers are behind and under furniture, so haven't tried a wired connection yet.

Given there was no reference to it on Google, assume that it is malware.
Can you boot in sage mode?
Has it ever been on the Internet for long periods? Like overnight?
Do you use WEP on any  wireless routers?
Do your neighbors have wireless routers?
Have you ever used any USB device other that a keyboard or mouse that came with the machine?
Are you thee only person that uses this computer? Do you log in with a password?

You may have a corrupted registry due to an infection. Please post the logs needed by following the guidelines in the Viruses and Spyware section.

Didn't try safe mode yet - (If I could boot in "sage" mode, I wouldn't need you guys, now, would I?)

Wife and I use computer.

Yes on WEP also router is MAC-restricted.

USB Hard drives and sticks occasionally plugged in, but only I have access to the hard drives, and the sticks I've used have been in my control for months.

Didn't have time for Spybot before posting, will try that and Safe and see what happens.

Thanks... Didn't know if anyone had ever seen an .exe like that before.

Well it's definetely not a Windows file so some other app is making a call tio the OS for it...most likely you are infected...
Update all your protection apps and run the scans overnite...
Post back with a list of which ones you use currently...

AVG and Spybot are the residents; I ran a Kaspersky online scan on Monday or Tuesday (but that doesn't help with a Friday infection, I know)...

Do them all again after updates...
Then Dload install update and run Malwarebytes...let it fix whatever it finds.

Malwarebytes - that's a new one. Will check it out.
