    One computer ostracized.
    « on: March 21, 2012, 02:47:45 PM »
    Hello all-

Here's the situation:  For the past few days, my laptop has been unable to access the internet through my router. It connects to the router, supposedly, but no internet access.  In addition to not accessing the internet, I cannot access the router configuration page (normally 192.168.2.1).  What's odd about the situation is that my laptop can access the router page and internet completely fine.  To make it more odd, my desktop can access the internet through my phone's wireless hotspot.  This is the extent of my knowledge. It doesn't seem to be a router issue, and it doesn't seem to be a wireless adapter issue.

    Any ideas?

    Most appreciated.

    Allan

    Have you reset the router?

Yes, I've reset the router / modem / computer / all the normal go-tos.

I'm not sure if I implied they were the same thing. Yes, I have a separate modem and wireless router.  The make and model of which can be provided if someone would find that helpful, although I'm leaning more toward a windows setting issue that might be causing this.  But, like I said, I'm not sure.
