Typical of some CH members, I tried again with the Windows version of Sea Tools. Using my Windows 7 Desktop. Had to install .NET 4. Took longer that the Sea Tools.
Al last, tried Sea Tools for Windows and it failed again.

Ah, but why give up? Next try the other Desktop, the one with Windows XP and a dual core CPU. Anybody want to see what disk manager said?  Never mind, you don't need a picture. Just some kind of little box red X in it.

Next try Easus partition manager. Create partition,. Quick format.
Seems OK. Does anybody want to known what happened next.

Oh, Yeah. That's what I thought your would say. Good night.

You want to know?
Well, I don't need another paper weight. So  i tried different partitions sizes using Mini-Tool  and found t, by dumb guess, hat there was at least 68 GB of contiguous space that would not blow the program when I tried to verify a partition. The drive is a Maxtor I got for free from a family member. It is balled as a 100 GB drive. I will keep it for an archive backup.

FYI: Free Mini-Tool

And yes, had to use NTFS for reasons outlined by BC.
FAT32 fails.  And its raining again, here in California.
