incompatible extensions ( yes i realise this is NOT Mozilla's fault)

Actually... it is. Think of it this way.

An application is sort of like an "extension" to an Operating System.

Windows has been changed a LOT more than Firefox has and yet can still run most programs from 1995.

Firefox has made far fewer changes. The only reason extensions don't work is because Firefox will yell that a plugin is "incompatible" if the plugin doesn't declare compatibility with the current version. Even though absolutely none of the changes made to the browser can possibly make most plugins "incompatible" because they don't affect the "surface" that plugins and extensions can deal with.

There are usually alternatives to any add on. I have found the alternative better then what I was using more then once. I have always thought that if a developer stops updating their add on then its better to find a replacement anyway. Abandoning an add on leaves it open to stability and security issues.

They are still visible in bookmarks and tabs. Just not in the address bar.
Ah, well that's not so bad then.  I mean, it's nice to see them in the address bar as well, but I think I'd be able to get over it.

No ...i'm not changing browsers for those who will probably be suggesting that...i just think it's wrong for them to conduct things in this manner.....
