    Good morning MIRKOSOFT

I am finding no drivers for that model for windows 3.1
Now as far as the PCMCIA card who made it, what is the model number

Some info would be needed but you may not be able to install W3.1 on that laptop.

Is W3.1 is it on floppies or CD

    Hope this helps you, Mike

      Hi!

I installed Win3.11 to my laptop by CD with copies of original Win3.11WFW CZ floppies.

As first I needed to use USB floppy disk, this was solved.

Now I need to solve ZIP & PCMCIA...

PCMCIA info which I have to specify is only Pretec PCMCIA CompactFlash Type II Adapter

      Many thanks.

My 1996 laptop with Win3.11 for Pen didn't require any driver when used with an old CF card & CF adapter.  Other CF cards it just refused to see.

I seriously doubt any PCMCIA card had drivers for Won 3.11...
The technology was 8 years apart...but Best of Luck.

16-bit PC Card slots were in laptops when Win3.11 was available.  Drivers were DOS.  Never could get the network card to work but the CF card with PC card adapter worked under DOS & Windows.  Since the laptop had no Floppy or CD, the PC Card/CF was the only way to load new programs.  I retired the laptop last year.

My point is:  no drivers are required for what he has.
He won't find them because they don't exist.

Found this:  "CompactFlash (CF) is a mass storage device format used in portable electronic devices. The format was first specified and produced by SanDisk in 1994...CF cards can be used directly in a PC Card slot with a plug adapter, used as an ATA (IDE) or PCMCIA storage device with a passive adapter..."

Still have this one sitting on my desk:

They are passive devices, no electronics in it.  CF cards were designed to interface directly to the PC Card Slot, the adapter only remaps the pins & form factor.

Do you remember the CF Micro Drive?  Back in the day, if you wanted large capacity, that was the way.

I still have an 10 year old Kodak 2MP digcam that uses CF.

Within the next 10 years, it will all be flash, hard drives will be gone.

        Hi!

OK, if it is passive device, how to addd a drive letter in DOS/Win3.11?
        e.g. by modifying AUTOEXEC.BAT or CONFIG.SYS

        Many many thanks!
