    Boot Options
    « on: August 31, 2012, 11:24:33 PM »
I'm running both Win XP and Win 7 on the same machine, with XP on C: and Win 7 on D:.

During boot up, the default boot option is the Win 7. How can I change it to be Win XP by default?

I'm using Win XP on daily basis and Win 7 occasionally due to hardware incompatible issues (it's an old machine :-P).

Edit the Default in the BOOT.INI file?

Good morning Michael and welcome to CH

I know what Dusty is talking about but Windows 7 doesn't use the boot.ini XP does use the boot.ini

If you can still boot into windows 7 it is very easy to change.

When you are at the W7 desktop First, you’ll need to right click on Computer and select Properties Next, click Advanced System Settings Now click on the Settings button under Startup and Recovery And just select the operating system you want to use.

That's it you are all set, hopefully this helps. Mike
Statement of the day.  The IT person asked. What kind of computer do you have and the customer replied a white one why?
