Does the F11 key just have 'F11' written on it, or are there other symbols?  If so, you may need to hold the 'function' key (often written 'fn' and located next to Ctrl and in a different colour) and press F11 at the same time.

When you say 'brings me back to you', do you mean it changes the website you're looking at?

Also, the bar that should appear at the bottom (and probably the bar that had the icons you are missing; Word, Skype, etc.) is called the 'taskbar'.  Has the taskbar been visible at all during this?  Is it the taskbar's disappearance that you are referring to when saying "I cannot see the buttons at the bottom where I can open things.  Lots of changes lately.  Cannot see Sykp and more."

Make sure you click on empty space on a website, then press F11 (take care to press it once).  The taskbar should return.  F11 is a universal key for 'full-screen mode' where a single window will cover the entire display, rather than allowing the taskbar and Window control buttons to appear.  After pressing F11 and going into full-screen mode, you should be able to restore the taskbar by pressing F11 again.

The key just shows F11.  I am in the blank background (there are leaves and there) and I click F11 in the backround.  It takes me back to what I have sent to you.

    Can you see the taskbar?

It may be useful to know that Alt + Tab allows you to switch windows.

Don't remove Computer Hope, then.  With Computer Hope there press F11 and see what happens.

      Can you see the taskbar?

      Good evening mis2ko

OK I know what patio is talking about but I believe he meant to say right click an empty area of the desktop and click on personalize then look for display on the left then click on adjust the resolution then on the next box click on the resolution button ans set it to the recommended setting.

I do have a question you started this post with not being able to your taskbar correct.

If the taskbar is not there at all do you have the start button / globe? do you have your desktop icons?

Hope to hear from you soon,Mike

Nope when I am on Computert Hope and click f11 nothing happens.  The only way I can see the task bar is when I reduce the programs I have up.

Then your issue is windows explorer

press CTRL+ALT+DEL to fire up the Task Manager. Now on the File menu, select New Task (Run...). Type in "explorer" and press OK. That should restart explorer and re-display your Taskbar.

            Good evening mis2ko

No the C should not come up. Press the "CTRL+ALT+DEL" buttons on the keyboard when you do it will look like this

            Then follow these instructions:
"Now on the File menu, select New Task (Run...). Type in "explorer" and press OK. That should restart explorer and re-display your Taskbar"

Good evening mis2ko and welcome back

OK it is possible that you have a couple of different things wrong

1 I would download and run MWB you may have a bug / virus that is stopping you. http://download.cnet.com/1770-20_4-0.html?query=malwarebytes&platformSelect=Windows&tag=srch%3Ba&searchtype=downloads&filterName=platform%3DWindows&filter=platform%3DWindows

Then if that comes up clean I would  run sfc To run the system file checker press Start, Run, and then type in SFC, followed by its options.
"Enter the SFC, the System File Checker."

The most common usage of SFC is this:

                  SFC /scannow

This causes SFC to scan your system immediately. SFC can take a few minutes to run. As I said above, have your installation CD or equivalent available in case SFC needs to replace a damaged file.

While it's not documented anywhere, if SFC replaces any system files, I'd reboot. I just like to make absolutely certain that the file replacement actually takes effect.
