Screen goes Dark
« on: September 30, 2005, 11:32:44 AM »
I have a Dell with Windows 2000 OS.  Lately, my screen will go 95% dark as if it is going into hybernation, but when I try to revive it, it stays dark.  Now, the screen stays about 95% dark even on start up.  What could be wrong and how do I fix the problem?

Which model did you say this was? And how old? And what BIOS revision (on the boot up screen)?

Without info we are just guessing.  :o :o :o

Cinead:

Have you tried to adjust the brightness and contrast on the monitor?  There should be a button to press that allows you to choose either option.

Can you play "monitor musical chairs" with another computer?

Tip: I've sometimes found that backing off the resolution and colours will sometimes help this problem.
