Please help !!!!!!!

 ???.......Ok I am a newbie here and am hoping you all can help me out....When i put a cd in my computer it wont automatically run and it wont run when i try to RUN it.....

it says..Cant find the file d:\setup(or one of its components)Make sure the path and file name are correct and that all required libraries are available.

So if anyone could explain this to me it would be great..

i got this computer from a family member it is  a 98 with windows 98 on it.... :-/

Hi Jen. Do you have more than one CD drive? Is this a D or E drive? (Look in my computer)  Does this only happen with one specific CD, or does it do this for all CDs? Is the drive getting power?

hey ..ok it is a d drive....Yes it does this to all cd's ive tried so far.......i am not sure what you mean by is it getting power??? Thank you for responding....Jenn

    Not all cds autorun, try putting in one that you know autoruns in another computer.

    Can you open the CD by using Windows Explorer to navigate the CD?

    K well i did manage to get my d drive running...But it was pointless lol...I dont even have enough memory to upgrade right now lol..i also need more hard disk drive space..I wanted to go up to winxp but oh well...


    I got this computer from a family member and should of known better than to try an upgrade till i worked out all the kinks anyways lol...Thank you all so much...
