how do you backup your ipod music?

I wanna download some new music but my ipod’s running out of space. I really don’t wanna delete any single song, how can i backup them to my computer? They said I can copy the songs to anywhere on pc but that didn’t work at all, when ipod was pluged in there was no music(only some pictures) shown on the computer!  I know there must be one solution, anyone know how ?

Please confirm that you are using Apple OS 10. But it not, you should tell what computer system you are using.

If you have iTunes installed on you computer, it should automatically fine all the stuff on your iPod; Be it  photos, music or video. Did you try iTunes?

You can always put it in your iTunes so you can switch out music.

if you are using windows you just copy the contesnts of the ipod drive over to your computer.
dont know about mac.

Hi. With iTunes there is nothing to worry about deleting even one song from your ipod. Get iTunes installed as fast as you can and then you can easily update your songs in the library and enjoy them anytime.

 I have also been able to transfer the songs I put on my Ipod to my computer & vice versa. As long as I purchased the songs with my account at Itunes, the newest version will recognize this and allow me to transfer the songs.That way, I have my whole library of music on my computer. I have also stored the library on an external drive as back up. And I always let Itunes update to the newest version. In the past it did not always recognize when you had made purchases in the past.
