CPU ON BUT MONITER NOT DISPLAYING

I HAVE WINDOWS 98 AND WHEN I TURN THE CPU ON IT RUNS BUT THE MONITER STAY IN "REST" MODE AND WILL NOT DISPLAY ANY INFO  HELP??

Do you hear the first beep on starup? If so did you unplug your monitor and plug it back in? If you did did you try jiggling the connectors in the back. If so did you test the monitor out on another computer? A bad video card might cause your computer to stay on rest

THERE ARE NO BEEPS!!  I HAVE PLUGGED AND UNPLUGGED AND TESTED THE MONITOR AND THE CPU ON OTHER MONITORS AND NOTHING!!!!  THE FANS DO RUN!!!!

Have you tried another Video card or tried re-seating your video card?

Has the computer been moved recently?
