    html to jpg
    « on: February 23, 2013, 12:29:03 PM »
    Hello once again everyone.

Hopefully this is an easy one.

A friend sent me a photo from a cell phone to my cell phone. My carrier is Verizon. I e-mailed the photo from my camera to my Yahoo e-mail account. I received the picture and it now resides on my laptop hard drive as an HTML file.

How do I change it to a jpg file so I can upload it to facebook.

    Thanks in advance,
    MP.

One does not simple convert a JPG to HTML, nor the inverse.
The JPG images also has to be on the hard drive nor else it is on a server somewhere.
You can examine the HTML content with notepad and look for a reference to an image.
here is a reference to a image

    And it looks like this:

    Does that help any?

If you can view the image on your laptop from the HTML, you should be able to right-click over the image and select "Save Picture as..." you can then save the image itself to a location of your choice such as desktop. You then can sign on to FB and navigate to desktop and post it.

BTW:   I have posted JPG, BMP, and PNG image files without any issues on FB, so I know for a fact that those 3 image types are supported.

Yes I can right click and save image as, to my location, but when I try to upload the picture from that location to facebook it says not supported.

very strange... well there is a easy way to make it work. Open this image up locally. Press Print Screen Key and then open MSPAINT and paste contents there. You will see the image + your desktop etc. Now cut out the image you want from MSPAINT using the paint tools and open a 2nd copy of mspaint and paste the cut image to it. Then save this as Image_Name.bmp or PNG and save to desktop. Now post this to facebook. *PNG and BMP will perform a lossless image copy, while if you chose to save it was a JPG instead your image quality will get trashed.

Very suprised with how much effort you had to go through to get the picture to facebook. The only images I have ever had an issue with saving a copy of or trying to snag a copy of via print screen key and mspaint have been pictures that are protected online. The digital camera snap shot of the monitor would bypass such a protection if that were the case here.
