Network Speed Extremely Slow Upon First Startup
    « on: June 16, 2013, 04:53:28 PM »
Me and a friend built a computer a few months back, it runs amazing, no problems... except.. the Internet Connection. When I turn off my computer and turn it back on it's basically non existent,Nothing loads, it runs like my grandparents dialup use to. .70mbps download before it's "warmed up" when it's peak it's 40mbps, it takes a few hours, to a few days to warm up. It's a direct connection, I bought a $70 Wireless Adapter hoping it may help, it didn't. I thought about buying a PCI Network Card, Any thoughts, and any suggestions that may fix the problem? All Drivers are updated.

What network card do you have?  Wired or wireless?  What router/switch/other gear is involved?  Is it just the speed from the internet that is affected, or also local network speed?

I don't have a network Card, It's out of my Mobo. It's a direct connection, I also have a wireless adapter(I don't use it, it doesn't help). Seems to not affect the Local Network's connection.

      OK, what motherboard is it?
Does this happen if you reboot the computer, or only if you turn it off and back on?
Do you also turn your modem off, or does that stay on?

Mobo is a ASUS F2A85-V FM2 AMD A85X. Yes if the computer is turned off at all, either by reboot or shutdown it screws it up. The Modem stays on almost all the time. My roommate has no problems with the internet. I had a Service call come out and he said it was just fine.

Hmm, fair enough, I was wondering if perhaps the modem was being shut down at the same time the problem may lie with that, but it definitely seems like it's your PC.
You say the wireless card did the same thing?
If so, I can't see it being the network card or chip at fault.  Might be worth checking if there's a more recent BIOS for your board, or a chipset driver update.
