HORRIBLE Trial Offers
« on: August 17, 2013, 06:04:08 PM »
I was looking for some audiobooks online, and I found a site which has a bunch of books which I was looking for. I went to the registration page, and I saw this:

Offer Details

[Website Name] offers 1 day of full membership at only $1.99. If you do not cancel within the trial period, the next day your account will be automatically extended to 1-year full membership (yearly payment of $99.99). Also you could choose 1-Month (monthly payment of $14.99) or 1-Year (yearly payment of $99.99) account directly. New [Website Name] accounts come with 1 day of trial period, and to ensure continuous service, all accounts auto renew until they are cancelled.

A $1.99 trial membership doesn't sound quite so bad (if they actually performed as advertised), but an immediate $99.99 fee if you forget to cancel within the same day (who knows when their days roll over) is just insane.

Watch out for those fine details.

He's playing a game called IRL. Great graphics, *censored* gameplay.
