New Mic or Make my PC Quieter
    « on: January 11, 2014, 03:48:32 PM »
I'm trying to get into streaming on Twitch but my Blue Yeti picks up a lot my LOUD PC. Should i get a new mic that doesn't pick up background noise or find a way to make my PC quieter?

Making PC Quieter to the Mic is probably cheaper.

I have seen people with noise issues like this use as simple as a paper plate behind the mic so that noise cant get to the mic from the computer that is on desk, the paper plate acts as a noise barrier. However if you have a small room and a really loud PC, then you may want to relocate the PC or if the noise is not a normal operating noise fix this noise issue with the pc.

What specifically on the pc is making noise? Fans? Hard Drives? etc?

Its the GPU that's making all the noise.

A loud video card is usually a fan that is dying. Has this video card always made this noise or is this a new problem? Solution may be to replace the fan or buy a new video card.
