    Dell Poweredge 2850 error

    I purchased a Dell Poweredge 2850 and i am getting an error message as follows;

    client mac addr: 00 14 22 22 c0 ea  guid: 44454c4 3800 1034 8036 b8c04f363931
    pxe-e53: no boot filename received
    pxe-mof: existing intel boot agent

    pxe-E61: media test failure, check cable
    pxe-m0f: existing intel boot agent

    strike f1 to retry boot, f2 for set up utility

    i have no clue what this means can anyone help me. I called Dell and was unable to receive help as previous owner's account is on hold.

    Replace the CMOS battery...Part # CR2032...with all powe removed.
    Then connect power and re-boot.

    Was the PC used ? ?

      Try the above 1st...and report back with results...
      It may have been setup to boot from a Network...which means you should wipe the HDD and do a clean install of the Windows version of youre choice...

      All Drivers will be at the Dell site.

      Is there an operating system on the server or have the hard drives been wiped.  Try putting a bootable CD/DVD in and see if it will startup from that.  It's fairly common for a PC to default to network boot if there is no OS on the hard drive and there are no other bootable devices present.

              Which OS are you trying to install? I seen this error before when I trying to install linux on a USB drive that wasn't formatted for fat32 it was NTFS.
