    Registering on Instagram from PC
    « on: March 23, 2014, 12:30:08 PM »
    Hi guys! I am an computer noob and know very little about computers so your help would mean a lot to me.  :)

    I know there is way to register on Instagram without Android phone via BlueStacks, but it requires 2GB of RAM memory but my computer has only 1GB..

    Is there any other way to make Instagram account using PC only?

    I would not recommend that product.
    Still, it is your choice.
    Here is a simple You Tube blip.
    How to Create an Instagram Account

    I would recommend alternatives to text between an PC and a smart phone
    KeyApt
    FoneLink
    MySMS
    MightyText
    Do a Google don thnis words:
    Remote Texting  Android to PC
    One of the first things up is from the Google apps store;
    Quote
    Description
    TEXT MESSAGING ANYWHERE, TEXT MESSAGING ANYTIME AND TEXT MESSAGING ON ANY DEVICE & TEXT FROM COMPUTER!

    Text from your computer and tablet - just like on your smartphone! mysms is synced with your phone and uses your current Android phone number.

    After installing mysms on your Android device you can start to text from your computer and web browser at app.mysms.com. mysms uses your existing mobile number, contacts and SMS text messages from your Android phone.
    But there’s even more – mysms is your messenger (like iMessage) for Android. If your contact uses mysms too - you can use mysms as your new Messenger and text 100% free (free instant messages) using mysms friends. It does not matter if you’re using your phone, tablet, computer or web app.

    HOW TO GET STARTED WITH THE MYSMS SMS APP
    1) Install this Android app on your phone
    2) Go to https://app.mysms.com on your computer, sync your phone with your browser and send your first text message.

    MYSMS SMS APP FEATURES YOU'LL LOVE:
    * SMS text messaging from your computer or tablet
    * Receive SMS text messages directly in the browser, on your tablet or desktop app
    * Sync SMS and MMS between your Android phone, tablet and on your computer
    * Sync messages and calls between two smartphones (-> download mysms mirror)
    * Unlimited free texting (instant messaging) to other mysms users
    * Group Chat: Add up to 50 contacts to a group and start texting right away
    * Remote SMS: Text online via your mobile carrier (no additional charge from what your carrier charges)
    * Phone calls: Answer, dismiss, mute or dial a call on your tablet & computer
    * Automatic SMS and MMS back-up to the cloud
    * Backup SMS & MMS: Archive SMS and MMS messages in your Evernote, Dropbox or Google Drive.
    * Multimedia messages: Sending pictures messages and messages with files
    * DashClock integration: Notifications on incoming SMS messages
    * Desktop notifications: Instant notifications on computer and tablet for new SMS text messages
    * Evernote integration: Archive & backup messages. Your texts are saved to Evernote
    * Smileys & Emoticons: Add emojis to your messages to show your friends how you feel.
    * Expandable notifications

    mysms is not only a great SMS texting app, you can even make voice calls on your tablet and computer (Bluetooth headset required). Works with PC, Mac and any browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Opera …).
    mysms is different from texting apps like Whatsapp and Kakaotalk because we not only support instant messaging/chat, we also integrate with your phone's SMS inbox.
    Connect mysms with Evernote, Dropbox, Google Drive or Email. Forward your messages to Evernote, Dropbox and Google Drive or save your SMS and MMS in your email account. mysms serves as an SMS backup and archive.

    We’d love to hear from you! Do you have a suggestion, question or comment? Just email us at [email protected]. We’re trying to reply within 24 hours during weekdays.
    You can also reach us on Facebook at http://facebook.com/mysms, Twitter http://twitter.com/mysms and Google+ http://gplus.to/mysms.
    ...
    The above is for the App called 'MySMS' which is arguably the most popular of its kind.
    Looks impressive, but you decide if it is for you.
    Sorry, I can not help you with Instagram .

      I don't think you understood me Geek. (Or I don't understand what are you trying to say)  :P

      I need to make Instagram account, but i have no Android phone. I want to make it using PC only. I don't want to "text between PC and android", just this.

      Is there a way or not?

      Yes, first let's agree on something.
      The editing features of Instagram are very poor.
      So, you have some nice photos on  nave prepared and you want to distrubure them with Instagram. Right?

      OK, here is the problem. Instagram is a thing made for Androids.
      Do you have any Android?
      If so, you have no issue getting the app.

      Well, here is the short story.
      Use Dropbox.
      With Dropbox one  can get a lot of pictures  from any  PC into Dropbox, a kind of cloud server.
      Next fire up the Android, move photos from Dropbox
      That is the short version.

      Do you want the long version?
      Their is a painful video on You Tube.
      How to Upload Photos on your PC to Instagram
      You can find it and see why I said what I said.
      (You will either find the video or something like it.)

      I'm guessing the above post doesn't help you at all. Try some of the things this Google search revealed and see if anything works:

      https://www.google.com/search?q=create+instagram+account+on+pc&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&channel=sb

      If, as you say, it requires a system with 2Gb ram, you can try it with your system anyway. Worst case, it won't run. And if it truly does not run, you'll have your answer - you need another gig of ram.

        @Geek

        Thank you for your tips. However, it is not what I asked.  ;D I can't upload pictures to Instagram or anything with a Dropbox because I have no Instagram account, hence this thread. I have no Android and I need way to make account without it.

        @Allan

        Thank you too Allan. I was actually searching for solution on Google and it turns out that BlueStacks is best option, at least what I could find. I tried to install it twice and it failed both times because of my RAM memory limitation. Yes, it would be nice to have another GB of RAM, but I don't have it at this moment. And that is why I opened this thread, hoping that some of you computer experts would know, since I am a bit of noob when it comes to it.  ;D

        Do you already  have friends  that use Instagram, or is there some reson you need to have a presence on Instagram?
        Really ? I mean, really?
        OK. I believe you.
        I will amuse you have a good reason.
        Let's move on...
        The issue is getting an Instagram account.
        Only an Android or Apple owner  can get an account.
        A PC owner can not get an account  unless he runs the emulator, which takes up more RAM. Android emulators take up more memory.

        So the first step for you is to find a friend, buddy or relative that will create a new account for you on their Android.

        If you can get to that point, you may have it made.

        I would just create the Instagram account from my PC then login to it with the phone...
        Maybe i'm over-simplifying things here but that's how i'd do it.

          @patio

          That is exactly what I am trying to do, just wondering how.

          @Geek

          Thank you again. Link you provided helped me to get YouWawe, Android emulator which I can install with my RAM memory. After that, I immediately downloaded Instagram, and just when I thought that's it...this happened(attachment related), leaving me pretty frustrated. I guess it's just not meant to be.

          Considering your previous post, yes, I would ask friend to do this for me but I have limited circle of friends and none of them owns Android. If there is anyone who owns Android phone or tablet here, and would be kind enough to spend 3 minutes of their time and help me register on Instagram with an e-mail I would provide, please send me private message. I would be most thankful for that. If no, I will have to give up on this until I get Android phone or something comes up, because this is getting frustrating to me.

          Thank you all for your assistance and help, you have been very friendly and helpful forum.
          Cheers.

            I'm not sure everyone here knows what Instagram is. Just think Twitter only you don't type anything out. You simply snap a picture and upload it to your Instagram feed. Social image sharing instead of social micro blogging.

            Don't give up yet...

            I wouldn't get my hopes up either. Instagram isn't geared towards PC use. You can view Instagram profiles on a PC though.

            @Baners3 - YouWave is running Android 2.3.4. Instagram says it requires Android 2.2 and up but that's not true because it's not compatible with my old Android 2.x device. I'm thinking it requires Android 3.x and up.

            You are going to need something like BlueStacks or maybe SnapPea but I think SnapPea requires having an Android device to sync with.

            Even if you could run BlueStacks you might not like it very much. It is a HUGE resource hog. I have RAM to spare except when it comes to BlueStacks. It's not only a CPU-RAM hog but will crash your video card as well.

              Thank you evilfantasy. I guess YouWave can't run it. Actually, you were right, I just want to view Instagram profiles on PC. Sorry for not making it clear earlier. I am not interested in posting pictures but just have a few nice  profiles that I found on the web and I would like to have profile to follow them easier. That is why I only need BlueStacks once and after registering on instagram I would delete it and further log in to Instagram with my PC. But it's not going to work since there's not enough RAM on my computer and I can't even install it for 5 minute use.

              I don't know if you can finish the sign up process but you can try a few of the Amazon Apps for Android : Test Drive : "Instagram" apps. Scroll down the page to see all of them.

              I did some more digging and found a Windows 8 app called InPic that is supposed to have the ability to create an Instagram account.

              I also found warnings about using 3rd party apps/software/emulators like BlueStacks, InPic, Gramblr etc. Apparently Instagram doesn't allow people using their software through emulators and hundreds of Instagram users have lost their accounts for using them. So beware... :-\

                This InPic would be awesome if I were using Windows 8 instead of Windows 7. Its like everything is up against my registration on Instagram.  8)

                I don't think loosing account would be an issue since I would only use Android emulator for creating an account, and if I am not mistaken, everything else is doable with PC only after I log in(like following, commenting etc).

                Thank you for your help.

                  Oh yes, sorry. It seems to me that those apps from Amazon are only to add certain features to your Instagram experience, nothing that would be of use to me...
