Inaccessible boot device
« on: October 25, 2005, 09:32:15 PM »
Hello,

I have a laptop that I'm trying to install Windows 2000 however I get a "Inaccessbile_Boot_Device" error after loading the files from CD.  I've tried to reset the bios by removing the battery...Is there any help?

Thanks.

Can you elaborate a little bit, Andre?

Are you sure you're booting from your CD-ROM drive?

Does anything happen at all prior to this message being displayed?
There’s no limit to what you can achieve if you don’t mind who gets the credit.

yes, it is booting from the cd rom drive using windows 2000 cd... after all the files have loaded from the cd and it says it's starting windows it stops and then says the error message 'inaccessible boot device'.

Are you using a full w2k disk or one supplied specifically for another computer?
