Busy vsmon
« on: October 26, 2005, 11:53:02 AM »
While sitting idle, my PC running Win XP Home was very busy accessing the disk for over 10 minutes.  I looked at the task manager and saw that vsmon was taking between 8 and 20% of CPU capacity.  What is vsmon, and what's it doing?  Thanks.

Many thanks.  Vsmon is one of the processes of the Zone Alarm Security Suite.  By the way, I've used the ZA products for years and have migrated from their free firewall to ZA Pro to the full Suite, and found them very satisfactory.  It eliminates nighmares that result from trying to run anti-virus from one vendor, firewall from another vendor, and anti-spyware from yet another.  Yes, it takes a lot of resources, but at least it runs smoothly.
