Laptop wont accept manufactures drivers
« on: May 14, 2014, 06:15:40 PM »
I recently bought a HP Envy 15-j105ea and down graded to windows 7. Most of the other drivers installed fine (from hp's website). But the wifi drivers won't install, the program just closes after disclaimer and manually installing causes a blue screen. I've also tried the wifi chips manufacturer but I get a "device couldn't start error".

At this point I'm open to suggestions.

Are you sure there are Win7 drivers for it ? ?

Many of those can't be downgraded...

Actually HP do provide drivers for Win 7&8 (x64)  For this laptop.

All is solved now after a quick word with a HP representative.

As it turns out HP have a reliquary page of drivers: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/
I beleive the text file identifies the individual files.

So hopefully this can be helpfully to someone else.
