blank blue screen

  when i started my computer it seemed to start ok until after login box but no visual image on vga moniter it just went to a blank blue screen. im running windows me
if anyone has some idea what to do next please reply

How about more info like:

type of monitor?
how old?
heavy or light use?
computer make/model?
what happened prior to this
was everything working fine before this?
any prior occurrence?
type of video card?
are connections secure?

we just need more info.
