Masnesaft Visual Studie 2010 (Moved here from Software)
« on: August 31, 2014, 05:23:02 AM »
I have recently seen this message appear on my screen: manesaft studie 2010 has quit working.

Do I want this program?

I know how to delete it but not sure what it's supposed to do.

It was in my file list;  now I can't find it...

Thanks for reading this post.

Hello and welcome to Computer Hope Forum. My name is Dave. I will be helping you out with your particular problem on your computer.

1. I will be working on your Malware issues. This may or may not solve other issues you have with your machine.
2. The fixes are specific to your problem and should only be used for this issue on this machine.
3. If you don't know or understand something, please don't hesitate to ask.
4. Please DO NOT run any other tools or scans while I am helping you.
5. It is important that you reply to this thread. Do not start a new topic.
6. Your security programs may give warnings for some of the tools I will ask you to use. Be assured, any links I give are safe.
7. Absence of symptoms does not mean that everything is clear.

If you can't access the internet with your infected computer you will have to download and transfer any programs to the computer you're using now and transfer them to the infected computer with a CD-RW or a USB storage device. I prefer a CD because a storage device can get infected. If you use a storage device hold the shift key down while inserting the USB storage device for about 10 secs. You will also have to transfer the logs you receive back to the good computer using the same method until we can get the computer back on-line.

Dave:
I was able  to follow your instructions 'pretty much' from start to finish.
Had a little trouble getting Adwarecleaner to download with Firefox. Switched to IE and all OK.
The cleaner shook my computer until some bugs must have fallen out.
The offending program manifest itself while cleaner was running. (I don't know what that signifies)
I have my hopes up but it may require some stronger medicine.
As I type the screen intermittently turns slightly translucent blue. (I have noticed this before I noticed Masnesaft)
No log appeared on my desktop, but I did copy several; if I can include here I will do so.

We will hope for the best!

I can never thank you enough!

This sounds like a monitor or video card problem. If it continues, you could try a different monitor.
Please post the other logs.

Dave: Forgive me for being slow and somewhat muddled.

I have been unable (so far) to transmit the remainder of JRT logs. I have not given up.

I updated and ran MalwareBytes. It says: found 4 infections. Is there some sort of log I should send?

I ran cleanup telling it to repair all. It did so.

One thing found was: Trojan/bot.gen and weluby.exe. I think they are removed.

I have high hopes for MalwareBytes seemed to run well. The blue screen problem has not reappeared.

My puter has seemed to regain somewhat of it's snappyness!

I have a lot to learn about this thing, and a lot to thank you for!

I have two drives in this machine. Are they isolated? I mean if one is infected does that mean the other is also?

I am having lots of fun, thanks to you!

Keep up the good work!

It says: found 4 infections. Is there some sort of log I should send?
It should produce a log after you quarantine the infections.

I have two drives in this machine. Are they isolated? I mean if one is infected does that mean the other is also?
If you're only using the other drive for storage, it should be clean.

I'd like to scan your machine with ESET OnlineScan

•Hold down Control and click on the following link to open ESET OnlineScan in a new window.
ESET OnlineScan

•Click the button.
•For alternate browsers only: (Microsoft Internet Explorer users can skip these steps)
  • Click on to download the ESET Smart Installer. Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the icon on your desktop.
•Check
•Click the button.
•Accept any security warnings from your browser.
  • Leave the check mark next to Remove found threats.
•Check
•Push the Start button.
•ESET will then download updates for itself, install itself, and begin scanning your computer. Please be patient as this can take some time.
•When the scan completes, push
•Push , and save the file to your desktop using a unique name, such as ESETScan. Include the contents of this report in your next reply.
•Push the button.

Dave:
I was able to download ESET and it ran.
I did attempt to post the log but machine returned a fatal error due to insufficient memory.
As best I could tell two files were selected as malware. One; Trojan.Zbot.gen (I think deleted) and weluby.exe (said couldn't be deleted as was in use)

Standing by for instruction.  :P

Dave:
Seems to have regained it's former briskness.

I have not seen any warnings recently (since running ESET) that any threats are present.

Good. Let's do some clean up.

This step will remove all cleaning tools we used, it'll reset restore points (so you won't get reinfected by accidentally using some older restore point) and it'll make some other minor adjustments...
This is a very crucial step so make sure you don't skip it.
Download DelFix by Xplode to your desktop. Delfix will delete all the used tools and logfiles.

Double-click Delfix.exe to start the tool.
Make sure the following items are checked:
  • Activate UAC (optional; some users prefer to keep it off)
  • Remove disinfection tools
  • Create Registry backup
  • Purge System Restore Points
  • Re-set system settings
Now click "Run" and wait patiently.
Once finished a logfile will be created. You don't have to attach it to your next reply.
*****************************************
Click Start> Computer> right click the C Drive and choose Properties> enter
Click Disk Cleanup from there.

Click OK on the Disk Cleanup Screen.
Click Yes on the Confirmation screen.

This runs the Disk Cleanup utility along with other selections if you have chosen any. (if you had a lot System Restore points, you will see a significant change in the free space in C drive)
******************************************
Go to Microsoft Windows Update and get all critical updates.
