Only Apple devices given APIPA addresses - Wifi

I've been searching the Web for 6 hours. Can't come to any solid conclusions... time to turn to my friends at Computerhope

I'm trying to help a friend (John). His family has always had multiple Apple and Android devices using his wifi with no problems, but over Thanksgiving, he had a dozen relatives over to his house. Most used Apple devices, some used Windows/Android. All of John's personal devices (Apple and Windows/Android) worked as usual, but ALL of the "out of town" Apple (and only Apple) devices were forced to use APIPA addys, hence no Internet.

DHCP IP pool was plentiful. It simply refused to spit out any IP's to the "out of town" Apple devices.
 
He would power-cycle the router, which temporarily fixed the issues, but they came back shortly (can't recall how long he said, but I surmise it was when the DHCP lease was up - one day).

Arrghhh.. disregard the above post. My friend neglected to inform me that he had a WAP installed and that some of the Windows/Android devices actually had some connectivity issues as well... I rebooted the WAP and all is good now.
