What operating system? Have you tried it? How about opening up Paint and choosing "Paste".

Be sure and consult your owner's manual, a good Windows (whatever version) book and the help topics here:

Lilburn E Shaw........ You didnt mention which o/s your

If you go to your desktop ......
press the screen print key .
    open up "paint"
click on the edit button and then click paste .......
your desktop will be there .
Now click the " save as" and give it a name and a location to save it to and your done ........
    It's just that easy .

If you don't know the answer, it isn't a dumb question.

If you use Ctrl + Print Screen it will copy only the active window.
