    Disabling Read-Only Attribute
    « on: January 27, 2015, 02:10:43 PM »
Sorry if this has been brought up a million times, but I did a search and the forums just freeze while loading. Might be my Chrome extensions.

I'm using Windows 8.1 with McAfee SecurityCenter and I am unable to disable the read-only attribute on a folder. I have tried moving the folder out of program files, I have tried running the attribute -r command, I have tried changing permissions, adding permissions, editing the registry for Windows Explorer, and allowing full control for all groups and users. The stubborn thing will not go away. I have disabled it before on every version of Windows before without any trouble, but Windows 8 is out of hand with this security.

I'm trying to run a program but it keeps crashing because it is unable to create files within the folder.
Are their any methods for turning read-only off when all of these have failed?

    Any help is appreciated.
