    First things first.

    Is it full?
Have you scanned it for viruses?
Is it just one file or the whole drive that is protected?
    Is it persistent?

If this as on going problem try formatting the drive but only if there is nothing on there you need to keep. Formatting the drive will delete EVERYTHING

And how do you know it's not write protected? Does it work on other systems? There may be a small, physical switch on the drive that toggles write protection on and off.

I'm afraid, it may be due to a damage of the flash drive
