Best Graphics Card for 1440p 100FPS+ Gaming?

I'm planning on getting an Acer XB270HU 1440p 144HZ IPS Monitor.
Since i was initially planning on getting GTX 970 SLI. The benchmarks I've seen running a solo GTX 970 barely handle modern games at 60+ fps at 1440p.

What cards do you think would be able to handle games like the Witcher 3 at 1440p while keeping the frame rates at 100+ fps?

Buying Monitor in one simple format and expecting about Gaming with good graphics card is not a good idea.
I suggest go with 4K monitor which will bring you more fun and amazing HD quality to you.
