Hi guys here's my new computer build specs

Fractal 2 case
Gigabyte 970A-DS3P AM3+ ultra durable Motherboard
AMD FX 8350 8 core 4.0Ghz CPU
Corsair CS650M 650w PSU
2 channel 16gb Vengeance Corsair RAM (Red)
NVIDIA GTX 650 1gb DDR5 GPU
1x 3tb Seagate HDD (C: drive)
2 x 1tb Western Digital HDD's


Needs some work on it but that is where I'm up to. I could upload images as well if anyone wanted to see it inside and out.

OK, I have to post-hoc correct myself! Just checked the logs and I completely misunderstood you in IRC. You asked "what read write speed would you expect from an internal SATA drive?" and for some reason I completely misread SATA as SSD; I gave you the read/write speeds of my SSD Drive.

Thus the correction: you posted speeds of 78 mb/s read and 128mb/s write, which of course compared to the speeds of my SSD were very 'slow', however, they are within 5mb/s of the speeds of my 4TB WD Red Drive, so the drive speeds you were seeing were not actually slower.

As to your components, with the exception that I went with an Intel CPU we have the same brand for all internal components. Gigabyte Motherboard, Corsair Power supply and RAM, NVidia Graphics card, and Seagate and WD Hard drives (my SSD is Seagate).

I take it the 3x 1TB are setup in a RAID configuration?

Looks good - Definitely get an SSD!  The Crucial M500 is extremely good value at the moment - Under £60 for 120gb and under £90 for 250gb.

Looks good I do love that case!  One quick and easy suggestion to tidy it up (if you haven't already) is to turn the drives around to have the leads facing towards the other side, to hide them.

Yeah I've done that, the only reason they were the other way is because I wanted the red cables showing with the red RAM.. I know 'vanity issues'

Ah, gotcha.  Looks good either way to be honest with the red RAM as well.
Glad my old case is still going strong, I would have another with no hesitation, love those Fractals.

Is that Graphics card fairly small Form factor wise, or is my GTX 770 ridiculously huge?

EDIT: Actually, I think that case is roomy, so it makes it look smaller. The case being roomy is a huge perk given that it makes connecting things up and cable routing a bit less of a pain.

The 650 is a significantly shorter card than the 770.  For comparison,the 650 pretty much stops at the end of the PCI-E connector.

Yeah it's quite a short card but the case is very roomey as well.

I've got the same memory. 2x 8GB Corsair Vengeance Pro. Its amazing. I'm running a Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 3GB VRAM Windforce Overclocked Edition, but when I made the memory upgrade to that stuff, it was a VERY noticeable improvement.
