Asus A7V880 when explorer 8 tries to watch a video it opens a blank page

This guy asked me to repair his old pc for a sound issue which i succeeded by using the correct drivers but when i try to open a video nothing works, i tried firefox and the videos stutter.
Is there a way to update to explorer 11 or fix the issue?
