Computer Power and Human Reason: Book Review
« on: August 09, 2016, 07:32:26 PM »
The book was written back in 1976. So why mention it now? Because it is still relevant, even more than before. Horrific troubles have come because humans trust too much to the great power of computers.  Now  more  and more people want computers to due things that are well done by real people.

The book was written by Joseph Weizenbau. At that time he was in the forefront of AI research using the equipment of the 60s and 70s.
The  first time I saw his book I was just getting into computer programming and and set the book down. Later, I would find it was a very important classic work.

Here are some parts of the book . Introduction and chapter 10. Take a lookt:

You can get a pauper back copy from Amazon. (English or German.)

If you are under 40 years of age, you should read this. And if you are over 40, it is not too late,  Weizenbau goes easy on the hard stuff.
And do not skip chapters  :D

Have you seen this book ?
