Windows 2000 pro hangs
« on: November 25, 2005, 05:40:36 PM »
While trying to repair windows 2000,(stopped recognizing modem) it went into upgrade. Now is "hung" in setup and I can't cancel. When I restart, goes back to set up. Tried in safe mode...goes back to setup. How in the world do I get out of it and just get back to the normal start menu?
Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a damage driver problem......remove the modem......and re-install system..

If it is asking you for your 25 digit license number, you have a serious trojan/virus issue. I am not sure what you did, but a full format and reinstall will fix it. Do you have a legal copy of Windows 2000?
