Will Zone Alarm, that intimidating firewall slow my internet connection?

I feel like when i am surfing by shutting down zone alarm, I am surfing faster.

I feel like you're crazy... But of course, if you don't have much RAM or processing power, then this is possible.

I tired Zone Alarm – YES it slowwwwwwed everything down coming across the network.  I tried several option changes and nothing improved.  The next thing I did was to uninstall Zone Alarm and that messed everything up to the point that I needed to have the entire system cleaned and reloaded everything again.  I use a dialup – can’t get DSL in the area.  I myself would not use Zone again, unless someone has a real good idea as to how to make it work faster.

    Thanks my 2 cents anyway

I tried Zone Alarm and had all the same problems. Tech support at Zone Alarm was very bad. I uninstalled it and will never use it again. :-[
