I'm wondering about the wording of the quoted part of your post.  I suspect it would be better worded like this: i need to copy data from each sheet in FILE1 in to corresponding sheets in FILE2.   Is that correct?  Are FILE1 and FILE2 names of separate Excel files?

yes i need to copy data from each sheet in FILE1 in to corresponding sheets in FILE2.

The thing to take care here is in file1 data is scattered , that data need to be put in order as per the date in file2 . Yes file1 and file2 are separate files

Can you elaborate on how the data in File1 is scattered?  Do you mean unsorted?  Is that what you're trying to convey by highlighting in green some dates in File2?

it is not plain sorting only with reference to date , the row with a particular date in each sheet should move to the same date in file2

here what am looking for is a sort of macro which can be used to move the data from file1 to file2 .

just for example have shown 3 sheets in both files , in actual we need to deal with 600 to 700 sheets in each file

What is the purpose copying the data from one Excel file to another?  Is this just for sorting, in File2, the same data that is in File!?

File1 is timesheets of each employee , there may be days when the employee is absent and no entry of that day available in file1.when we move data from file 1 to file 2 , the days employee is absent , only date should be there in that row

Well, you have a complicated situation regarding all that data and I don't think I can take the time to delve into it further with you.  Engaging a discussion in a forum devoted to Excel might be a good way to proceed.  You could try http://www.excelforum.com/ or search on excel forum for others.

Any reason you're quoting your own Post ? ?
